WUC
World University Championships (WUC) organized by FISU , an age group international world championship, are held every 2 years (even years e.g. 2006, 2008, etc.) for college, university, and USOEC freestyle resident student athletes.

The USAW University Nationals is the qualifier for the World University Championships and USAW University National place winners comprise the university national team. USOEC freestyle resident student athletes who are unable to qualify for the WUC serve as training partners for Team USA at this world championship.

WUG
World University Games (WUG) organized by FISU , an age group multi-sport international world championship, are held every 2 years (odd years e.g. 2005, 2007, etc.) for college, university, and USOEC freestyle resident student athletes.

The USAW University Nationals is the qualifier for the World University Games and USAW University National place winners comprise the university national team. USOEC freestyle resident student athletes who are unable to qualify for the WUG serve as training partners for Team USA at this world championship.
